According to statista, Indonesia ranks as the 4th largest smartphone user in the world with a total of 168 million users by 2023. from 168 million of smartphone users in indonesia, 13 millions are iphone user . and then From 613 million of smartphone users in india, 17 millions are iphone user. So if you compare indian and indonesian market, it is only 24% in difference for total iphone users. But if you compare the total population and the market share, there is a significant power in the indonesian market for iphone.
But Imagine this fourth biggest smartphone markets in the world is suddenly cuts off Apple, blocking every new iPhone from entering the country. That’s exactly what’s happening right now in Indonesia. Apple is facing an outright ban on selling the iPhone 16 in Indonesia, and the impact of this could ripple far beyond one country. What’s at stake? Not just lost sales, but potentially Apple’s grip on emerging markets altogether.
but why this is such a big deal for Apple? First, Indonesia is a huge country with over 280 million people, and its middle class is growing fast.
